Are private lessons for me?

If you are looking for a “quick fix”, this isn’t it.

Spoiler alert: There is no quick fix. In order to achieve long-lasting results, you will have to work at this regularly. Just think of all the hours you’ve spent slouching over the course of your life — one yoga class or chiropractor visit won’t fix that permanently. It can be a slow and sensational process, but I promise it is worth it!

There are few guarantees in life, but I can guarantee that if you keep ignoring your body, that back, knee, wrist, shoulder - whatever pain you are experiencing - will continue to get worse over time, and I want to make sure that does not happen!

Take a moment and imagine: that today, in the body you are in right now, was as “bad as it gets”... even 10, 20, 30 years from now.

How great would that be?

Now imagine, you spend a few hours a week devoting time and energy to feeling your body, strengthening your muscles, increasing your mobility, and improving your balance.

How would that impact your quality of life?
What if you continued doing the work for 10, 20, 30 years from now…?

Other tips

To make the classes extra fun, I’d love to incorporate a wall into some of the classes. You don’t need a lot of space… just a YOU-sized spot on the wall (or door) and the mat in front of it.

Have trouble sleeping? In this tutorial, we will work legs up the wall, a simple and effective pose for improving the health of your feet and knees, and for calming the nervous system. I’ve found this pose works wonders if my brain is running 1,000 miles a minute and I need to wind down before bedtime.

Flow Together: Yoga Practices for Parents and Kids to Stay Active and Connected

Yoga is a fantastic way for families to bond while promoting physical and mental health. Practicing yoga together fosters a sense of connection, teamwork, and fun. Here are a few simple practices to get started with your little ones.

Warm-Up Together

Start with gentle stretches like seated forward folds or cat-cow poses. Encourage your kids to mirror your movements to make it interactive and engaging. Add playful elements like pretending to be animals for extra fun.

Partner Poses

Partner poses are a great way to build trust and connection. Try the double downward dog or the partner tree pose. These poses not only improve balance and flexibility but also promote teamwork.

Breathing Exercises

Teach your kids simple breathing exercises like belly breathing or alternate nostril breathing. These practices can help them regulate emotions and build mindfulness skills.

Relaxation Time

End the session with a short relaxation practice. Lie down together, close your eyes, and listen to calming music. This quiet time helps everyone unwind and reflect.

By integrating yoga into your family’s routine, you can nurture a shared love for movement and mindfulness. It’s not about perfection—it’s about enjoying the journey together.

Helpful tips for a great online yoga class

The “ideal" set up >>>

  • One device (phone or laptop) logged into Zoom *camera on/microphone on*, set across the room so I can see you while you are sitting or standing.  (See photo above.)
    This will allow me to see all of you so I can share additional alignment cues as we move through the postures.

  • Another device (laptop plugged into tv with HDMI, or phone connected to tv through airplay) logged into Zoom *camera off/sound not connected*.
    This will project Zoom on to your tv so you can see your team members and me on a larger screen.

  • If this 2-device set up is not possible for you, no worries… set up in your standard e-meeting way. These are just tips I’ve picked up teaching online these last few months.

Zoom:

We will be using Zoom.us for the video classes. For your first class, please try to log in a few minutes early to make sure there are no delays. You will be able to access the classes from your smartphone or your computer. When you join the meeting, please mute yourself, so there is no feedback.

Yoga Class | Balanced Body (Nourishing Beginner) | 30-min | Yoga and Functional Movement

Today we worked on:

+balance

+opening the shoulders

+decompressing the spine

+strengthening the shoulders and arms in down dog

+showed our hands and wrists some love

+spinal extension and rotation in reading pose & favorite twist

While this class is simple enough for beginners, if you are new to these postures, it can feel VERY sensational! Please be sweet to yourself, ease off the poses, come out early. Know that this is what having a healthy body feels like... It won't happen overnight, but if you continue at it little by little, you will feel dramatically different next year! :) Excited for you to join me on this ever-evolving online journey!
